FreshStart Preschoolers Our preschoolers are learning that Jesus wants to be their Friend Forever; they will learn how much Jesus loves them. Each week our trained & screened Pre-K volunteers lead our little ones thru various learning experiences that show that express, of how much God does love them. FreshStart Elementary / Extreme Our Elementary ministry is called EXTREME, because we are extreme about, how we want our children to grow as Jesus did, Luke 2:52 “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men.” Parents, of elementary children we encourage you to purchase a virtue pack from the children’s check-in, the cost is $10.00 for each pack, these virtue packs will assist you and your child as you learn our virtue for the month of April, which is Conviction, Standing for what is right even when others don’t. “Never tire of doing what is right”; 2 Thessalonians 3: 13.

Summer Camp Dates: July 15 – July 17 Location: Lake Aurora Christian Camp, located in Lake Wales Florida. Children entering 1^st thru 6^th grades in the fall 2009 are invited to join us as we “Dig in the Dirt” that God created as he created us and children build their lives on the “Solid Rock of Jesus”.
FreshStart Kids Vision
The ministry of FreshStart Kids will come alongside the family, offering to assist families as their children grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Providing environments and opportunities for children to build relationships with other children and with adults who share the same values and beliefs as their own parents. Helping them grow into becoming fully devoted followers of Christ.
FreshStart Kids Values
We are a kid targeted ministry. Everything we do is to reach, teach and love a child at their age level. We encourage and support parents. Everything we do is designed with the family life in mind. We will intentionally shepherd children through Small Groups. Building a relationship with a child is an effective teaching tool which models Christ. We will keep children spiritually, emotionally, and physically safe. Our children’s best interests are our top priority at all times. We are FUN! Our goal is to have our time with FreshStart Kids be so fun they can’t wait to get back!
Sunday Morning 10 am
Our FreshStart Kids staff will welcome your child and give you a numbered tag. Please keep this tag handy as it will be needed to pick up your child. Children will only be released to parents/adults who show the proper tag!! If your child needs you during the service, your tag number will appear on the screen in the auditorium. If this occurs, please proceed to your child’s room. All children meet in the Pre-K/Kindergarten building at the front of Forest Lakes Elementary Infants and Toddlers & Two's meet in the nursery located in room 007. Pre School—Kindergarten ages 3-5 meet in the pre school room 010. The curriculum used for the toddlers and pre school is My First Look. This curriculum helps children, by the age of five, to believe: God made me God loves me Jesus wants to be my friend forever. EXTREME is for students grades 1 through 5 and meet in room ? The curriculum used is 252 Basics which follows a large group time of exploring the days main point, Bible story and key verse through drama, music and games. Small groups that involve the children in activities that assist the children in personally applying the point through discussion, games, crafts and more. 252 Basic's is built around 36 virtues, a new virtue is introduced each month. These Virtues are taught with three basic truths in mind, that all children should grow up as Jesus did ... Luke 2: 52 “Jesus grew is wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” We desire for our children to know about wisdom, faith & friendship. WISDOM: I need to make the WISE CHOICE; Jesus always made the wise choice. FAITH: I can TRUST God no matter what; Jesus trusted God, His Father no matter what. FRIENDSHIP: I should TREAT OTHERS the way I want to be treated; Jesus treated others the way He wanted to be treated. Each week the same “bottom line” is taught through out the month. This “bottom line” is illustrated through skits, video, Bible story, songs and small group activities that reinforce the “bottom line.”
Kid's Night Out
Kid’s Night Out is a theme oriented high energy evening for all children from birth through 5th grade. The event runs from 6 –9 pm and is designed to give parents an evening alone and kids an evening of fun with friends.
FreshStart Kids Special Events
Special Events are a big part of FreshStart Kids. From time to time we have seasonal activities designed to reach out into the community such as a Fall Festival, Dinner with Santa & Christmas shopping for family, Snow Days, Vacation Bible School and more. There is always something going on at FreshStart Kids. Check the website or your program to see what is next! FreshStart Kids is under the direction of Kathy Winstead. FreshStart’s Children’s Ministry
FreshStart’s Kids Ministry is always looking for a few good volunteers to show the Love God to our FreshStart Kids. Nursery Toddler & Two's Worker - This job is to love and hold those precious little ones that get entrusted to us for an hour each Sunday. For the Two's & Toddlers a planned lesson and activity that will be prepared for you. Help the kids with a snack and oversee play time! We strive for a "two deep" rule, which is that have two adults with the children at all times. The time commitment is one Sunday a month from 9:30 – 11:30! Pre-School Worker- This job is to guide the kids ages 3-5 through a detailed lesson plan filled with fun activities, songs, bible stories, and crafts which have already been prepared for you. Again a "two deep" rule is in place, meaning that we have two adults in every class. The time commitment is one Sunday a month from 9:30 – 11:30! FreshStart Kids Welcome Center – This job is to see that every child is greeted and checked into their class on Sunday morning. This includes registering new comers and explaining the basics of the FreshStart Kids program to parents and showing the way to their class. Our Checkin Center needs are two adults for each Sunday. This would require one Sunday a month (adults), the time commitment is from 9:30 – 10:15! FreshStart Kids Special Events Volunteers - The requirement for this position is someone that wants to "have fun" with kids. You would be needed for fun things like game nights, Vacation Bible and School EXTREME Elementary Summer Camp. FreshStart Kids Prep Work – This job is to print out, copy and gather necessary items for activities each week for the leaders on Sunday or setup & prep work for special events. This can be done anytime during the week that the church office is open, Mon., Wed., Thurs., and Fri. The time commitment averages about 2-4 hours per week.
