In the Acts of the Apostles we find a description of authentic Christianity being lived out – it was an organic community where LIFE was done together with a deep devotion to discipleship, fellowship, breaking of bread, and to prayer – and it was very attractive!  These groups met regularly in each other’s homes and in larger temple court settings.  They were intimate, dynamic, and full of LIFE!  Unfortunately, the modern church is often times missing this experience, we have become a culture of Jesus consumers.  (Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 4:15-16)

At Freshstart, we believe that there is great opportunity for spiritual growth (discipleship), meaningful relationships, and a powerful prayer LIFE within the context of these smaller group gatherings.  Where people can investigate the claims of Jesus in a safe and supportive environment.  We believe that these groups can be the catalyst for people to move from being a consumer of Jesus to a devoted follower of Jesus.  (Matthew 28:18-20)

LIFE was never meant to be done alone, and God has a purpose for each of us.  We encourage you to become a part of one of these groups and discover just how relevant Gods word is for us today by engaging in LIFE with a group of people from all different walks of life!

The following books have challenged and helped us as a staff at Freshstart in our faith and ministries.

It is rare (probably impossible) to find a book in which you agree with literally everything (other than the Bible!), and this list is no exception. We consider these books to be very useful and important and solid, but this list should not be taken to imply that we are in complete agreement with literally everything in every book.

Most books can be purchased on Amazon, or thru your local book store.
