What is the most important thing you must do this week? Looking at my schedule I might quickly say, go to Duke Medical Center for Jenn’s next epidural injection. This is a huge event not something that happens every week. It’s a major part of this week that does take time, money and energy to make the trip.
Truthfully, it’s not the most important event of the week. The most important event is connecting regularly with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords that he might order our steps, not only on the trip but throughout the entire week.
This morning I was reminded of David’s father asking him to go take provisions to his brothers. They were on the battle line retreating from a giant named Goliath. In l Samuel 17:20 We read that “David rose early in the morning, left the sheep with a shepherd.” David was asked to do something special, something out of the ordinary, something he didn’t do every day. He excepted the job but realized that he was still responsible for his ordinary work tending the sheep.
Don’t get caught up in the extraordinary and forget your regular responsibilities. Don’t allow the extra ordinary to keep you from connecting with God each day. I hope you can start your day reflecting on how you plan to walk with him this week.
Have A fantastic day. Let’s talk again tomorrow.
