Monday is Trash day around here! All week, we fill the garbage can in the garage with junk we no longer need. Often the garbage gets a little smelly, and Monday’s are a great day of aromatic relief. Trash is something that needs to be purged from the house!
It also needs to be purged from our lives! Yesterday, I received a package that was hurtful. The person who sent it to me intended it to be. My first reactions were not the best. Thoughts of bitterness and anger flooded my head and heart. I quickly realized it was time to take out the garbage!
Paul says to us in Ephesians 4:31;
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
When these things occupy real estate in our heart and head, it is time to take out the garbage. Confess this sin to God, and anyone you are holding these feelings toward. God is faithful and just to forgive this sin and to cleanse you completely.
Don’t hold on to garbage let it go today. After all, it’s Monday… trash day! I’m praying for you today. Let’s talk again tomorrow.
