Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life – Matthew 6:27
Worry a lot? I seem to worry less when I am busy. Often I’ll say a token prayer in the morning and then leave is everything depends on my understanding. With what I know and believe it’s crazy. So during this 40 day journey of introspection, confession, and renewal, I’ll have a lot of time to worry.
As a believer worry is our questioning whether God will come through, whether He’s got this?
Do you claim to have fully surrendered your life into the hands of our Savior Jesus Christ? Do you trust him that he has plans for you, not to harm you but to allow you to prosper? Do you truly embrace the fact that you are a blessed child of God? Do you believe that no matter what your circumstances right now nothing can happen to you today or any day that you and God can’t handle?
Living in the reality of these beliefs takes us down a path of intimacy with God. When we worry we’re on the path of our own understanding. We no longer asked the question what is God doing here but how can I fix this. We do not take time to be still and know that he is God, we take God’s place in the situation instead.
In Matthew 6 Jesus reminds us His Father knows what the lilies of the field need and he certainly knows what we need. So why do we have needs that seemingly go unmet ( that causes us to worry). Let’s talk about that in the morning.
Have a great day know I am praying for you today.
